Qualicaps’ Research and Developmet Department is actively working to improve the quality of our existing capsules and develop functional capsules for the future, reflecting the needs of our customers.

We are leaders in R&D of hard capsules through a wide range of activities, including close liaison with Japanese and overseas formulation designers, and joint research with government and academia. Through our global network, we collect the latest intelligence on pharmaceuticals and health foods from Japan and the rest of Asia, the United States, and Europe, and use this intelligence in the development of new capsules to meet diverse needs.

We also provide useful information for the development of capsule drug products and actively support pharmaceutical development.

Looking to Lead the World in Capsule Formulation Design

In our endeavors to develop new and innovative capsules, we are working on designing formulations of capsules that dissolve in specific sites in the body, and capsules that can be filled with various liquids, using ingredients that can be used for pharmaceutical and food applications. To meet our customers’ requirements, we also use various scientific approaches to improve the quality of existing capsules, such as their solubility and mechanical properties.
