Notice Concerning Glycerin

Dear valued customer,

As you may be aware, the Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Associations of Japan Quality Committeeissued a notice dated May 10 concerning the quality of glycerin.

According to the notice, there have been reports of numerous deaths in Panama resulting from cough syrup made using Chinese-made glycerin that contained diethylene glycol. It states that it is extremely important for businesses to minimize the risks of such an incident here by thoroughly checking the country of manufacture of any glycerin used in their pharmaceuticals.

Accordingly, we would like to take this opportunity to assure you that no glycerin is used in gelatin capsules or HPMC capsules here at Qualicaps, or in the raw ingredients of any part of the production process.

We would greatly appreciate your cooperation in passing the above message on to all relevant people at your company.

Yours sincerely,

Seinosuke Matsuura, Manager
Quality Assurance Department
Qualicaps Co., Ltd.
